Back in the early nineties when I was doing in-home demonstrations for Rainbow and Thermax vacuum cleaners the amount of dirt I usually saw in homes was usually considerable. Of course, Thermax and Rainbow vacuums use a recovery tank or water basin filled with water to trap the dirt, as opposed to a bag and the water always turns dirty.
